MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE

Haziz Dance

HAZIZ Belly Dancers have cast their spell for many year it is:

DAZZLING  ◊  SENSUOUS  ◊  FEMININE  ◊

* Enter an enchanted world of sensual dance to the  mysterious  world of the Arabian Nights. From the smoky caverns, deserts and mountains of Egypt, Tunisia, Arabian Gulf & Persia.

* Dances are also from Macedonia, Algeria and Morocco. Some modern influences are utilized and the shows are visually diverse, with even a touch of Hungary & Cuba!

* The music is fabulous, with  breath-taking choreographies – ten lavishly costumed dancers, the colours and moods forever changing.

HAZIZ was formed many years  ago, founded by Hazel Kayes – a professional actress, dancer and Middle Eastern chef.

The style of dancing is from all over the Middle East, incorporating traditional, folk and classical Egyptian styles, as well as cabaret, performing with candles balanced on their heads, stick dancing from the mountains, veils, sword, Isis wings and dancing to the drum.

The dances are authentic and creative, from individual solos to duets, trios and ensemble dances. All group choreographies have been devised by Hazel Kayes. Duets and solos devised by individual dancers and Hazel.

HAZIZ Dancers are based in Gloucestershire and have performed for over ten years, at theatre shows, festivals, Egyptian or Moroccan nights, concerts, private functions and charity events throughout Great Britain …. and beyond.

Hazel Kayes has for over fifteen years performed and has taught Egyptian dance several times in Egypt and danced at Weddings in Cairo, in Israel & Marrakech. She regularly performs with Arab musicians and has toured internationally with rock musicians. She used to teach dance in the Sinai Desert hosted by the Mozeina Bedouin Tribe near Nuweiba, but it is now more difficult to travel there.

LEARNING EGYPTIAN DANCE—Arabic Dance is a wonderful way to keep supple, feel good and have fun at the same time. You can learn to express your artistic side and is suitable for all ages.

Hazel teaches classes in Gloucester, Stroud & Cirencester. Please see our website for details: www.hazizbellydance.com
